During 2014, Resin Flooring Specialists were selected by Buckingham Group to supply and install 5000m2 of Antistatic resin flooring to a new manufacturing facility in Dartford.
The installation of the resin floor finish was purposely programmed for late in the construction, 4 weeks before hand over to the client.
RFS first prepared the power-floated concrete slab using our own HTC Diamond floor grinders. A 2 coat DPM primer was then installed to the whole floor, prior to application of a 3m x 3m copper grid, which was earthed to the building every 800m2. A carbon rich Peran ESD primer was then applied to the floor, followed by the final Peran ESD SL resin floor installed at a nominal 2.5mm
Peran ESD SL anti-static resin flooring provides a hygienic, easy-to-clean self smoothing resin floor finish that is compliant with EN IEC61340. It is ideally suited to dry process areas where the floor is
subjected to medium to heavy duty foot, trolley, pallet truck and rubber wheeled fork lift traffic. Typical uses include laboratories, clean rooms, warehouses, and electronic, aerospace, automotive and printing plants.
Project completed in March 2015, with materials supplied by Flowcrete UK. For further information on this and other types of specialists resin flooring suitable for use in the engineering and manufacturing sectors, please feel free to contact us.
Following on from our works at Luton airport last year, where RFS installed resin flooring to a new 4500 m2 hanger development, we recently completed a 3mm Skydrol resistant resin floor installation to a newly constructed Helicopter hanger in Kent.
The original concrete subfloor was diamond ground and received 2 coats of an Epoxy DPM, prior to application of an industrial top levelling screed, over which the new 3mm Self Levelling seamless resin floor was installed.
All perimeter walls received a 100mm high, 50mm radius cove detail finished coloured to match the floor and finished to a stainless steel trim.
We trust you’ll agree, the resin flooring complements the hanger and aircraft it houses, providing a sleek, high performance, easily cleaned and maintainable floor.
Project completed in December 2014, with materials supplied by Flowcrete UK. For further information on this and other types of resin flooring suitable for use in the aviation sector, please feel free to contact us.
RFS have recently completed a small Mondeco Crystal Ice – Dusty Grey Resin Terrazzo installation at the new Jimmy Choo branch recently opened in New Bond Street. The terrazzo flooring was installed to the entrance of the store, providing a seamless, hardwearing attractive finish.
Due to site access restrictions, the work had to be completed after the main site works finished, as this was the only entry / exit to the site at the time.

A 2 coat, high performance epoxy coating, like Flowcrete Flowcoat SF41 as seen in the photo below is an ideal flooring solution for warehousing, industrial and production areas. Slip resistance can be further improved and controlled by incorporating graded aggregates during application. A great cost effective solution for large open areas. These coatings are hard wearing, chemical resistant and abrasion resistant. They provide a seamless, aesthetically pleasing finish and are relatively quick to install.
This is a recent warehouse refurbishment, prior to the new client moving in…
RFS installed a seamless resin terrazzo floor around 18 months ago to a small reception area at a clients new head office in Sevenoaks. I was on site today, looking at another food production area, and had the opportunity to see the Mondeco Terrazzo. The client continues to be delighted with the terrazzo floor, it’s durability and high quality aesthetics.

RFS have been working over at the emirates stadium over the last few months with over 8000m2 of new resin flooring installed in 8 phases. The last of these phases has now been completed ready for the start of the new season.
A Flowcrete deckshield system, incorporating a slip resistant aggregate and finished with 2 coats of SF41 epoxy coating, provides a hard wearing, anti slip, durable finish to the ground floor.
Floor preparation involved the removal of over 3500m2 of failed pump screed at over 10mm thickness, using our BEF320 floor planers and HTC heavy grinding plant.
See our floor coatings page for further details on durable, cost effective coating systems.
Back in early 2013, RFS secured the resin flooring at the new sport centre at the University of Kent – Canterbury. Flowcrete’s Flowsport system was specified in 3 different colours to a total area of 260m2. Flowsport is a joint free resin flooring system designed specifically for sports environments such as sport halls and gymnasiums, and provides a cushioned and supported feel underfoot.
The floor is easily cleaned and maintained and looks as good as it did the day it was installed, some 18 months later…
RFS have commenced work on a 4000m2 coating project in West London. Making full use of our own HTC 650-RX grinders, vacuum assisted preparation of the floor and removal of the old surface covering is well under way.
Once surface preparations are completed, the floor will receive 2 coats of a high performance, durable epoxy coating.
RFS have recently completed the resin flooring to a new aircraft hanger at London Luton.
The project involved the diamond grinding of what was originally an very course external concrete hard standing, on which the new hanger was constructed.
A new resin DPM was applied and the floor finished with two coats of Flowcrete’s Flowcoat SK, which is resistant to SKYDROL, a very corrosive hydraulic fluid used extensively in the aviation sector.
All new joints were filled with a floor-grade flexible polyurethane jointing compound – all 2000 linear meters.
The new hanger measures over 4500m2 and here is the finished result…
RFS are already 1 month into a 8000 m2 project at the Emirates stadium, home to Arsenal football club.
The project involves the installation of a new resin floor to the ground floor concourse area, for main contractor Sir Robert McAlpine.
Following the removal of the existing failed flooring, a new Flowcrete resin floor system is being installed with a anti slip finish.
The project is due for completion by the end of June, well before the start of the new season.
